Cat Toy Deer Leather String, a great fun for your kitty – Simple toy concept, great fun!

SAFETY INFORMATION:
Never fling/flick the leather string at your cat (or any living thing), it may hurt him (like a whip) and he won’t play with the toy anymore. Never leave the toy out where your cat can find it. The Leather Kitty String is an interactive toy only, meaning you must ALWAYS be holding it during play. Do not let your cat chew off lengths of the toy as this can pose a health risk for your kitty if swallowed and shorten the string’s life. Inspect toy often for rips or tears or general wear and simply cut off the damaged area (leaving the string shorter but usable).

SPECIAL NOTE: These have no clips on the leather to connect attachments to. They are NOT meant to be used with attachments! These are the full toy by themselves. If you get attachments and think you can connect them to these leather strings, then you are on and using it in a way NOT designed.

This listing is for my DEER Leather string! PLEASE READ this full listing to learn about each of the three string types I carry, so you can decide which may be the best for you and your cat. Have you ever noticed that your cat loves the simple things and often more than complex ones? A box or bag instead of the new toy you just brought them? These leather string toys are simple and great fun for you and your cat!

I have used a leather rope/string to play with my cats for over 25 years, and it never ceases to amaze me just how much they love playing with it. So, I decided to offer a Deer, Buffalo and Cow Leather strings.

You may be amazed at how playful your cat will be with a Leather String. It is about as simple as an interactive toy can be. Simply hold one end of the leather string and drag it past your cat, or make it dance in the air near your cat and watch your kitty’s reaction! Wiggle it, make it slither over things, up in the air, under a chair… I play with my cats every night with mine. My cat Perseus likes to grab it and run with it in his mouth, with the string trailing and me having to dash behind. I have all three string types I sell, but I tend to use the Deer and Buffalo the most as my cats are not large breeds or totally wild chewers.

ABOUT THE DIFFERENT STRINGS:
* The Deer string generally ranges from 32 to 42 inches long, averages 1/4 inch wide and about 2/16 inch deep.
* The Buffalo string generally ranges from 50 to 65 inches long, averages 1/4 inch wide and is about 2/16 to 3/16 inch deep.
* The Golden Buffalo string generally ranges from 36 to 45 inches long, averages 1/4 inch wide and is about 2/16 to 1/8 inch deep.
* The Cow string generally ranges from 55 to 85 inches long, averages 1/4 inch wide and is about 1/8 inch deep.
(as each hide is not a uniform shape, I cannot help the length ranges of each type)

The differences between the strings: The Deer leather is the softest of the 3 types, the most flexible and a bit stretchy. The Buffalo leather is a little thicker, stronger and firmer than Deer and not as soft, nor is it really stretchy but it is about as flexible as Deer. Buffalo will hold up better to chewing than the Deer. The Golden Buffalo string is thicker and stronger than the deer and thinner buffalo strings but remains supple and flexible and is good for chewers without going to the stiff cow leather. The Cow leather is a thicker than the other 3 leathers and not as flexible, but holds up very well to a heavy chewer and large breed cats. Each leather string will vary in length and its width will slightly vary over the length. They are handmade/cut after all, and no two animal hides are the exact same size. Color/tint can vary from images.

The Deer, Buffalo and Cow hides I use come from Wyoming and/or Montana.

I personally test all my toys with my cats and no-kill shelter cats. The images of the cats playing with the leather strings are from different sources/places. The savannah cat pulling the string is a happy customer photo. The orange cat in the window is from Tabby’s Place Cat Sanctuary and is named Pixie (someone shot him with a pellet gun and he is now a paraplegic, but still can have fun!
